HanDScript
HanDScript provides a convenient and easy prescription writing function to your handheld. Simply enter the details and print to your IR (infra-red) and Bluetooth equipped printer. A database of 300 drugs with typical dosaging is already provided and the user is able to modify the drug and associated database to suit his/her needs and prescribing style. The format of the printed output can be modified to allow printing to either pre-printed prescription paper or blank sheets.

HanDScript is designed to be logical and easy to use. Attention has been paid to minimizing the number of  keystrokes which thereby inceases the speed and efficiency of use. The prescription details have been combined in one line (i.e. drug, dose, route and frequency) rather than having to select each component individually. All aspects of the program are modifiable to meet the user's individual needs. As most physicians use a relatively small number of drugs it does not take long to modify the drug database to accomodate the individual physician's prescribing habits.

Please note this program is not intended to be used as a drug database or reference tool. Please install ePocrates or similar program for this purpose.  It is the prescriber's responsibility to check every detail of the prescription before giving this to the patient. Drugs and doses provided are representative only and must be modified according to patient needs and prescriber preference. No responsibility is attached for any error or consequence whatsoever arising out of the use of this program.

This program requires the prior installation of the following software:
1. HanDBase 3.0
2. PocketReport with HanDBase 3.0 plug-in
3. PalmPrint

An IR printer or printer with an infra-red adapter is necessary. I have been using a Canon BJC-85 which is small, lightweight and works very well.

PLEASE NOTE:
1) The current file format of HanDScript is for HanDBase V3.0. The support pages on this site show screen shots from the earlier version for HanDBase 2.75 as well as the current version.

2) Please ensure that you have downloaded the latest version of Pocket Report - older versions will not work with HanDBase 3.0.
